Flat Roofing        

 
Flat roofs are most common in commercial buildings, but may also be seen in some residential homes. Flat roofs are unlike a sloped roof in that it they are designed entirely or nearly horizontal to the ground below. Though it is a horizontal surface, it is designed and built in such a way that water can still run freely off the surface to prevent any pooling. There are a few different types of flat roofing systems, including built-up roofing (tar, felts &  gravel), Modified, Liquid Applied, TPO's, EPDM, Cold Process and coatings.

     Tile Roofs

Concrete and clay tile roofs have begun to gain popularity throughout Florida because of their aesthetic appeal. Available in a broad variety of styles, finishes and colors, you will be sure to find a design to fit your liking. Concrete tiles are created from cement, sand and water which is poured into molds and left to cure until the desired strength is reached where as clay roof tiles are produced by clay being molded and then baked.

Concrete or cement roof tiles are very durable fire rated and have a high solar reflectance.  Depending on the manufacturer and the profile of tile installed, a tile roof installation can reduce the amount of heat penetrating the conditioned space versus direct-to-deck installation by 50% and reduce energy consumption by 22%. They are generally given a warranty for the life of the structure. 

 
Metal Roofing                              

Metal roofing has many advantages attracting more and more people towards having a metal roof installed on their commercial building or residence, or having it installed as a replacement to their current roof material. Metal roofs have a longer life span and require less maintenance than most roofing materials.

There are many choices to make when selecting a metal roof such as the different profiles, exposed or non-exposed fasteners, types of metal, gauge of metal, colors, coastal applications, warranties and maintenance. 

       Underlayments

Peal n' Stick is an SBS modified peal and stick product that seals around all penetrations.  It actually sticks to the roof deck.  It can be used under shingles, tile and metal roofs.  It is considered to be a secondary water barrier by insurance companies which, if used, can possibly result in savings on your insurance premiums.  Peal n' Stick is definitely an upgrade from roofing felts and is highly recommended, especially in hurricane prone areas.

Roof Cleaning                   

Overtime algae and fungus can begin to grow on shingles as well as other roofing materials, leaving your roof looking dirty and in need of care. Fungus and algae left untreated on a shingle roof can lead to many problems down the road such as granule loss, rotting of shingles, and disrupt the normal fungal ecology of the roofs surface. Roof cleaning is done using a pressure cleaner armed with specific chemical products used to treat whatever may be growing on your roof.

        Energy Star Roofs

ENERGY STAR qualified roof products reflect more of the sun's rays. This can lower roof surface temperature by up to 100F, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a building.

ENERGY STAR qualified roof products can help reduce the amount of air conditioning needed in buildings, and can reduce peak cooling demand by 10-15 percent.
